Traditionally, the Machiavelli Foundation kicked off the new parliamentary year. Speaker of the Lower House Khadija Arib and Volkskrant-journalist Remco Meijer looked ahead to the coming political year.
Of course there was talk about the upcoming renovation of the Binnenhof and the way in which the Lower House wants to be involved. In addition, the conversation also addressed political current affairs and Ms. Arib expressed the hope that Members of Parliament will read their questions to Cabinet from paper less often during plenary sessions.
